The Governor was informed by the Uttar Pradesh Govt. in an official communication about the change made as per to the Centre’s nod in 2017.
The proposal of the renaming of Mughal Sarai station was made by the BJP government in a bid in Uttar Pradesh in 2017 to revive the legacy of Upadhyay, who was found dead at this junction in the year 1968.
